I’m Rachael and I’m Mum to two beautiful children who are 7 & 3 and fur baby Arlo a 2 year-old Cockerpoo, and I’m engaged to my soulmate, Scott. I live in rural Herefordshire, on the border of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. I have a passion for photography so working flexibly allows me to take care of my family and indulge my passion at the same time.

I am based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire on the border of the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley, and Gloucestershire.

I am extremely fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, so I love to ramble around the local countryside snapping away to my heart’s content! Taking the dog for a walk gets me out of the house, so I already have quite a bank of images. Head over to my Gallery page to see some of my favourite places to photograph.

Why did I choose to specialise in landscape photography?

I went into landscapes because I love the freedom and flexibility it provides. There is no time frame so I can just take joy in the moment which I can then share with others through my products. I adore the fluidity of landscape photography; you can take 365 photos in the same spot over the course of a year, yet no two images will be identical. One landscape can change so much depending on the light, the time of day, the weather, or the season so the process for me is more about relaxation, being free and enjoying the moment.

With photographing landscapes, there is no pressure. I do not need to worry about ruining someone’s day if I miss the shot like I would if I was a wedding photographer. I also do not need to worry about directing people to pose in a certain way or make them feel at ease if they are uncomfortable in front of the camera like I would if I was a portrait photographer.

If anything, I prefer it if people are not in my photos.

Many of my images are available to licence or can be printed in a variety of ways. I am also happy to accommodate commissions wherever I can so please get in touch to find out how you can get copies of my images.
